42% would like less via personalized email.
8% said they wanted more email.
15% said they wanted more personalized email.
16% visited a the website after getting an email.
38% said it may prompt them to check out a website.
90% said that a recommendation from a friend was the most effective means
of persuading a consumer to try a web site.
30% of users receive more than marketing related messages per week. The biggest
culprits appear to be online shopping, travel and news sites.
65% said they receive messages from online shopping sites regularly.
45% receive messages from travel sites regularly.
41% receive messages from news and information sites.
48% said that an email marketing message would occasionally persuade them to
visit a site. Almost 70% said it would occasionally lead them to purchase online.
36% had a positive opinion of permission marketing.
56% have given personal information to online shopping sites.

46% said the most common method of learning about a new online shopping site was
the banner ad.
