Mailbox Filter White Paper

The invasion of inboxes is a problem that is widespread and growing. Many vendors are attempting to handle this problem for the Internet user. ISP's continue to combat SPAM at great expense. Computer users are constantly fighting to keep their inboxes from invasion. The proliferation of email viruses has cost 100's of millions of dollars in lost productivity.

What are the available solutions to this ever-increasing scourge? Currently all solutions are geared toward providing a service for end users. For example, ISP's may subscribe to a service that pre-filters their customers' messages in an attempt to detect SPAM. This means that end user messages are being routed to other computer systems in an attempt to get rid of the junk mail and pass along the good mail.

This introduces the possibility of error and puts the control of a users email into someone else's hands. Doing this may not seem like the best solution, however for lack of a better one, people are forced to sign up for these "outside services". So what is the real solution to all this? Why is it that system administrators are forced to outsmart SPAMMERS by writing thousands of rules everyday to combat them? This seems like the blind leading the blind.

Who better to know what email they do or do not want than the user themselves? Why not let the user decide 100% who they let in and who they do not? If you're a sharp computer user you may be able to figure out how to create your own system of filters, subscribe to blacklists and maintain some type of control. But what about the average person who wants to experience the Internet for all its glory? How can they possibly know what to do, let alone have the skill to do it or to protect themselves from SPAM and VIRUS attacks through email?

A majority of virus attacks happen through email. Most of the time they come from someone the person knows. That person got the virus from someone else and so it goes, on and on. The solution needed is to give the users total control of their email. Computer users need to take control of their inboxes and maintain security with their systems.

That is the goal of Triumvirate Technologies, Inc. and why Mailbox Filter was born. The idea that a server class product could be brought down to the level of the average computer user seemed like the only solution. Instead of knowing how to write all these complicated rules, all you would need to know is how to type in an email address or a keyword. That is what Mailbox Filter does for the end user. You now have a server class product, with all it's complexities, simplified into plain English with an intuitive and friendly interface. That's what was needed and that is what Mailbox Filter does for computer users.

Mailbox Filter is a server class product whose time has come. Giving computer users total control of who gets into their email system takes the ISP's and other services off the hook. The more automated and adjustable control a user has, the better off the Internet community will be.
